USS ethical investment seminar

UCU conference to explore an ethical investment strategy in the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).

UCU is hosting a conference to explore an ethical investment strategy in the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS). It will address questions like:

  • Why should members want USS to invest ethically?
  • What might this achieve in terms of investment related to climate change, arms and tobacco?
  • What is disinvestment? Why might members of USS want USS to consider this?
  • Is a responsible investment strategy compatible with a divestment strategy?
  • Why USS should ask members what they want USS invested in or for?
  • Does the new hybrid scheme coming into USS open up opportunities for responsible investment?
