Help us feed in to Welsh government consultations on the establishment of a Tertiary Education and Research Commission and the delivery and funding of community based adult learning.
Public good and a prosperous Wales - the next steps - proposals for the establishment and operation of the Tertiary Education and Research Commission for Wales.
Consultation ends 17 July 2018.
Following the White Paper, Public Good and a Prosperous Wales, Welsh government are consulting on further proposals for the establishment and operation of the Tertiary Education and Research Commission for Wales. The commission will:
- oversee strategic planning of educational and skills delivery across all post-compulsory education and training
- be responsible for funding, contracting, quality, financial monitoring and audit of all post-compulsory education and training
- manage and fund all of Welsh government supported research and innovation.
UCU Wales will have circulated a draft to members for comment and will be sending the final response to Welsh government, shortly.
Delivering and funding of community based adult learning - restructuring the way the Welsh government delivers and funds community-based adult learning.
Consultation ends 11 September 2018.
Welsh government strategic aims for adult learning were set out in the policy statement Adult Learning in Wales. They are consulting on proposals that will:
- ensure all learners in Wales have equal and fair access to government-funded provision
- help Welsh ministers decide how to allocate funding in the most efficient way.
