FE national bargaining in Wales

As a part of the 2014 national recognition agreement [141kb] the employers and the joint trade unions have set up a negotiating body called the Wales National Committee Further Education (WNCFE).

That body also has a drafting group which it can ask to do work on its behalf. The drafting group members are drawn mainly from HR and the relevant joint trade union members.

The past couple of years much of the work of the WNCFE has focused on helping the Welsh government and employers manage the Covid-19 response, to ensure the safety and well-being of our members and our learners.

We have also managed during that time to review all the national agreements and where necessary made the relevant changes.
