19 July 2022
Six colleges in London face industrial action after an overwhelming number of UCU members voted for strikes over local pay and conditions claims.
With 29 other colleges also voting for action, and four across the north west also taking action, this brings to 39 the number of colleges across England facing disruption.
On a turnout of 77.4%, nearly every member (98.4%) voted for action at Barnet & Southgate College. At New City College Group (Hackney, Havering, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Epping Forest colleges) 88.6% said yes to strike action on a turnout of 65.8%.
