Respect FE ballot: just under two weeks to vote

5 July 2022

We are past the halfway point in our ballots for industrial action over pay, workload, and professional autonomy in further education. If you haven't voted yet, you now have less than two weeks to do so.

The ballots close on Friday 15 July but you need to post your ballot papers back in the prepaid envelope by Wednesday 13 July to be sure they will be counted.

If you still haven't got your papers - whether because you've changed your address or for any other reason - you need to use our form to order a replacement urgently.

The deadline for ordering replacements is 11am on Monday, 11 July but you should order now to give yourself a safe margin to post your vote back.

Your union doesn't choose to ballot by post - the anti-union laws in this country require us to do it that way.

The law also says that at least 50% of the union's members need to vote - as well as a majority voting YES - for the results to count.

One missed or late ballot paper could deprive not just you but all of your colleagues of the leverage you need to get an improved offer from your employer.

Make sure that doesn't happen. Join the thousands of other staff in colleges up and down the country who are standing up and taking action. Post your vote or order your replacement papers today.

In solidarity,

Jo Grady
UCU general secretary
