UCU has issued the following statement: 'UCU members have voted to accept the proposals for reform of the Teachers Pensions Scheme which have been put out to ballot by UCU alongside the ballots conducted by other trade unions which have members in the TPS.

'The ballot result reflects acceptance of the assurances received for existing TPS scheme members, notwithstanding the important concerns expressed by members regarding the position of new members of the Scheme.'
