Agnes Flues

For many years, Agnes had been involved in UCU undertaking various officer posts at the University of Nottingham, working regionally on the East Midlands Executive and more recently as an NEC member.

Chris Treganza She worked tirelessly for members no matter where they worked. Whether that be in direct representation or general support on numerous picket lines or at various demonstrations, UCU related and not.

Passionate about fairness, doing the right thing and treating people with dignity, Agnes was a bedrock of her ethos.

Agnes helped so many people and would always remember every single individual and would keep in touch whenever she could to check how people were doing - championing them to succeed and thrive in their lives.

Agnes encouraged many to become involved, not just in UCU but in trying to build a better world for all.

This is a deeply sad loss to the movement. Agnes will be forever missed and we will honour her legacy and will continue to be inspired by her in all that we do.
