USS contributions announcement

I bring you an important announcement about USS.

In a meeting of the USS joint negotiating committee, your representatives voted to confirm that your monthly USS contributions will be reduced from 9.8% to 6.1%. For a member earning £45,000 this will mean a monthly saving of £111.

This will take effect from 1 January 2024. To view your estimated contribution rate savings per month (pre- and post-tax) over the next 15 months, please use this link.

This is a great day for our union, for members of USS more broadly, and the whole trade union movement. It shows us what we can do when we stick together. Well done to everyone who played their part in getting us here. Everyone who voted in a ballot, stood on a picket line, who donated to our fighting fund, and of course every branch rep, every staff member, and negotiator who didn't give up.

The next step happens in February, when the deed for restoration and recovery will be voted on, prior to being implemented from 01 April 2024.
