Online Q&A on future HE strike action

Firstly, Happy New Year!

We have been busy using the festive break to lay the ground for winning the #ucuRISING dispute. We are going to build on our historic ballot result and strike action last year with further industrial action that will deliver us a game changing deal for our sector. We want you to shape that action.

We have received hundreds of emails and social media messages from members and reps with your views on our next steps in anticipation of the Branch Delegate Meeting (BDM) on 10 January and Higher Education Committee (HEC) on 12 January.

Now we want to open up these discussions even further with a Twitter Space on Monday 9 January at 19:00.

This open Q&A will be very much like a radio phone-in, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and speak directly to the union's leadership. Importantly, you do not need a Twitter account to join the Twitter Space (you will need one if you want to ask a question). We have chosen Twitter because it is the social media platform where we have the highest concentration of UCU members following us - we want as much input as possible.

This will be the most transparent all-member event in our union's history and the final chance for members to input into this process before the BDM and HEC, so it is vitally important that you join us and encourage other members in your branch to do the same.
