Durham Miners' Gala

UCU will be represented at the annual trade union organised gala celebrating our values, our achievements and of course those who have fought for working people before us.

The gala will commence in Durham City Centre Market Place at 8.30am where unions will gather with banners and marching bands and then proceed to the County Hotel in Old Elvet for The Big Meeting at 1pm with guest speakers, including our own general secretary Jo Grady, and from there to Durham Cathedral for more speeches and music at the Miners' Festival Service at 3pm.

The Durham Miners' Gala is an important date in our calendar so please join thousands of other trade union members for a huge celebration with music, politics, a fun fair and fantastic communal atmosphere.
