FE fights back - share

We've shown what can be achieved

21 May 2018

UCU's head of further education, Andrew Harden, has today written to members working in further education (FE) in England, to update them on progress so far in the FE Fights Back campaign and to show that we can make real achievements.

He wrote, 'Thanks for all the great feedback about FE fights back. The campaign is already having a big impact. You might have seen the announcement of a 6.25% pay deal at Sandwell College and we've just heard that thanks to pressure from union members, discussions at Bradford College over jobs cuts have been positive enough to call off the strike action planned this week.

'Already we've shown what can be achieved when we fight back together for a better deal. This campaign is for ALL further education workers at Association of Colleges (AoC) employers and our colleagues in Unite, Unison, GMB, NEU and AMIE staff unions stand with us and our joint claim for better pay and jobs

'College staff across England are fighting back for FE with many taking action on pay and jobs. Please help build the campaign in your workplace by sharing this short video with colleagues.'
