Staff governors' conference 2007

The theme of the 2007 conference, held on 10 December 2007, was self-regulation.
A full house of delegates heard from Sir George Sweeney, chair of the Self-Regulation Implementation Group and Lynne Sedgmore, CEO of the Centre for Excellence in Leadership, who discussed the role of the staff governor.
Presentations on FE's future were given by Susan Pember, a civil servant from the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, and Ken Spours of the Institute of Education. Lively debate took place in a range of workshops.
