England's FE employers increase pay offer to 1.5%

UCU's further education committee (FEC) has agreed to consult branches on whether to accept or reject the offer through a special sector conference to be held on 19 September in London.

The FEC will be submitting a motion to the conference calling for a rejection of the offer, which is less than the likely schoolteachers award of 2.3%, and to organise a ballot of the membership for a programme of national strike action.

The conference will also be considering how to take forward our campaign to defend jobs and for more funding for the sector.

Formal notice with details of the arrangements will be sent to branches in the near future.
