Part-time hourly paid / Rhan amser a delir fesul awr

23 June 2021

Important message from the Wales official regarding the part-time hourly paid campaign • Neges bwysig gan Swyddog Cymru mewn perthynas â'r Ymgyrch Rhan Amser a Delir Fesul Awr

In April we wrote to you and introduced you to the UCU Wales part-time hourly paid campaign and invited you to a meeting and to engage with other members during the campaign.

Meetings have been taking place with branch committees and with part time hourly paid workers. Members and non-members have told us their stories about what it means to be employed on part time hourly paid contracts and they are delighted that the focus of this campaign is about improving the working lives of part time hourly paid staff.  Some have pledged to go back to their workplace and talk to others about the campaign.

This is a good start, but it is not enough, more part time hourly paid staff need to come forward, get involved and tell their stories, the information will be kept strictly confidential, only comments and numbers will be used. Tell us where you work, what you do and how long have you been PTHP and end the story by answering this question: 'what would a fractional/full time contract mean to you?' Email your story here.

If you know of any colleagues who have not received this letter and are not UCU members please share this letter with them and encourage them to write their story, answer the question that we have posed and send it here.

Make your involvement in our campaign to improve terms and conditions as a part time hourly lecturer an action as your new (academic) year resolution!!!

Kind regards

UCU Wales official

Ym mis Ebrill ysgrifennais atoch i'ch cyflwyno i Ymgyrch Rhan Amser a Delir Fesul Awr UCU Cymru, gan eich gwahodd i gyfarfod ac i gysylltu ag aelodau eraill yn ystod yr ymgyrch.

Cynhaliwyd cyfarfodydd â'r pwyllgorau cangen ac â gweithwyr rhan amser a delir fesul awr. Mae aelodau a'r rhai nad ydynt yn aelodau wedi rhannu eu straeon â ni am yr hyn y mae'n ei olygu i gael eu cyflogi ar gontractau rhan amser a delir fesul awr, ac maent wrth eu boddau bod ffocws yr ymgyrch hon ar wella bywydau gwaith staff rhan amser a delir fesul awr. Mae rhai wedi addo dychwelyd i'w gweithle a siarad â phobl eraill am yr ymgyrch.

Mae hwn yn ddechrau da, ond nid yw'n ddigon. Mae angen i ragor o staff rhan amser a delir fesul awr gymryd rhan a rhannu eu straeon - bydd y wybodaeth yn cael ei chadw'n gwbl gyfrinachol, dim ond sylwadau a rhifau fydd yn cael eu defnyddio. Dywedwch wrthym ble rydych yn gweithio, beth rydych yn ei wneud ac ers faint rydych wedi bod ar gontract Rhan Amser a Delir Fesul Awr, gan orffen y stori drwy ateb y cwestiwn hwn - 'Beth fyddai contract ffracsiynol/amser llawn yn ei olygu i chi?' E-bostiwch eich stori i: pmarkham@ucu.org.uk

Os ydych yn adnabod unrhyw gydweithwyr nad ydynt wedi cael y llythyr hwn ac nad ydynt yn aelodau o UCU, rhannwch y llythyr hwn â nhw a'u hannog i ysgrifennu eu stori, ateb y cwestiwn rydym wedi'i ofyn a'i anfon i wales@ucu.org.uk

Cymerwch ran yn ein hymgyrch er mwyn gwneud gwella telerau ac amodau fel darlithydd rhan amser a delir fesul awr yn adduned blwyddyn (academaidd) newydd!
