1. Wales further education workload dispute

We are balloting members for strike action in a dispute over the ever increasing workloads. High levels of workload is impacting on the health and wellbeing of members working in further education (FE) and having a negative impact on the quality of learners' education. The UCU industrial action ballot will open on Thursday 20 February and close on Friday 13 March.

We are urging members to vote to ensure that we reach the 50% turnout required by law. A high turnout and resounding yes vote in the ballot will provide UCU with the bargaining leverage to tackle the issue of workload and secure the necessary funding needed to allow FE colleges to deliver the best quality education for students. The advice from UCU is VOTE in the ballot and Vote YES for strike action. For more information see here. #WorkloadMatters #TimeFor21

2. Higher education strike action

UCU's higher education committee (HEC) has now agreed 14 more days of strike action in both of our current national higher education disputes: our 'Four Fights' dispute over pay, workload, equality and job security, and our dispute over USS pensions. You can find more information here. 

Recognising that not all branches will be able to take part in strike action, we are suggesting that those branches who are unable to come out on strike should take part in city centre rallies and work together with branches involved in strike action to coordinate city based rallies. Another way that members who are unable to take strike action can help is by donating to the fighting fund. Please support your colleagues by making a donation to the UCU fighting fund here.

1. Anghydfod ynghylch Llwyth Gwaith Addysg Bellach yng Nghymru 

Rydym yn gofyn i aelodau bleidleisio dros streicio yn yr anghydfod ynghylch llwythi gwaith cynyddol. Mae lefelau uchel o lwythi gwaith yn effeithio ar iechyd a llesiant aelodau sy'n gweithio yn y sector addysg bellach ac yn cael effaith negyddol ar ansawdd addysg dysgwyr.

Bydd pleidlais UCU ar weithredu diwydiannol yn agor ddydd Iau 20 Chwefror ac yn cau ddydd Gwener 13 Mawrth.

Rydym yn annog aelodau i bleidleisio er mwyn sicrhau bod o leiaf 50% ohonynt yn cymryd rhan, sef y ganran sy'n ofynnol yn ôl y gyfraith. Bydd canran uchel o bleidleiswyr a phleidlais ie sylweddol yn rhoi'r sbardun bargeinio sydd ei angen ar UCU i fynd i'r afael â'r mater o lwyth gwaith a sicrhau'r cyllid sydd ei angen er mwyn galluogi colegau addysg bellach i ddarparu'r addysg orau posibl i fyfyrwyr. 2. Streic Addysg Uwch 

Mae Pwyllgor Addysg Uwch UCU bellach wedi cytuno ar 14 diwrnod ychwanegol o streicio yn ein hanghydfodau addysg uwch cenedlaethol cyfredol: ein hanghydfod 'Pedair Brwydr' dros gyflog, llwyth gwaith, cydraddoldeb a diogelwch swyddi, a'n hanghydfod dros bensiynau Cynllun Pensiynau'r Prifysgolion. 

Cewch ragor o wybodaeth yma.

Gan gydnabod y ffaith na fydd pob cangen yn gallu cymryd rhan yn y streic, rydym yn awgrymu y dylai'r canghennau hynny na allant streicio gymryd rhan yn y ralïau mewn dinasoedd. Awgrymwn hefyd y dylent weithio gyda'r canghennau sy'n streicio i gydlynu ralïau mewn dinasoedd. Ffordd arall y gall yr aelodau sy'n methu streicio helpu yw drwy gyfrannu at y gronfa brwydro.
