1. HE pay and equality and USS disputes: GTVO
We are entering the final week of the UCU national ballots on pay and pensions, which close on 30 October. You should have received a series of emails from UCU national regarding the ballot and we would urge you to read these and take note of what is being said. It is of paramount importance that a 50% turnout is achieved in the ballots. Please stand up for education and a fair deal for HE staff by voting YES for action and YES to action short of a strike and show the employers we are prepared to stand up and be counted. Please do everything you can do GTVO in these final days. If you have any final queries or questions please contact Phil Markham at the Wales Office.

2. UCU Wales adult community learning policy
We are pleased to share with you the UCU Wales position paper on adult community learning which will be one of our manifesto priorities for the Welsh Assembly elections in 2021.

3. EWC code of professional conduct and practice
The EWC's revised code of professional conduct and practice came into force from 1 September 2019. The code sets out the standards expected of those registered with us and is intended to support and guide their behaviours and judgements as professionals working in education and training roles in Wales. Please can all FE branches encourage members to read and take note of this document.

4. Grace Blakeley book launch: Stolen: How to save the world from financialisation
